Original artworks by Contemporary artist Charlotte van der Cingel
A Portrait is typically defined as a representation of a specific individual, such as the artist might meet in life. A portrait does not merely record someone’s features, however, but says something about who he or she is, offering a vivid sense of a real person’s presence.
Butterflies are a metaphor representing spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope and life. Seeing one is a sign that positive change is transpiring and brave forces are watching over you and ensuring graceful transition.
I created a body of work, inspired by heavy weights in the hyperrealistic field, like Tjalf Sparnaay, Roberto Bernardi and many others. When a painting you like is already sold then I can make one for you custom made!
This body of work includes touches of gold colored bronze oilpaint and give it that lovely shininess when the light hit’s it. Stroling by you see the color of the gold paint change, influenced by the light.
Growing up in a small town I always wanted to go to the big city. That was the place were it all happend. Now living in Rotterdam, The Netherlands for over 15 years, I fell in love with the city life and therefore wanted to create urban paintings.
The people I choose for my pop art paintings are icons, men and women who stood up for people’s rights or changed the world with their music or performance. Finished with a layer of epoxy resin.
